After the changes to DART’s bus route network with the opening of the Orange Line extension on July 30th, I thought’d I check on the status on Route 524. Route 524 was proposed to serve as a direct shuttle between the Love Field terminal and the  Inwood/Love Field light rail station, serving the Orange and Green line directly. It hasn’t appeared on the DART website so I though I’d reach out to DART the easiest way possible: Twitter

 

So there you have your answer. Route 524 is scheduled to be a part of the December 3rd route changes. Let’s hope this sticks and that the frequency is AT LEAST every 15 minutes to keep those fussy Dallas commuters happy. I haven’t been thrilled with DART’s bus route cuts however this should be one of the positive changes this year. It’s the second best thing for Love Field transit access next to tunneling under the terminal. We all know that opportunity was missed when they chose the final Green/Orange Line alignment.
